Supercross - Westcoast

The 2022 Monster Energy Supercross series, runs from January 8th thru May 7th of 2022.

"The 17-race schedule returns to its traditional weekend routing format as the series visits 15 cities spread across 13 states including California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Michigan and Washington."

There are a total of 3 racers from Red Bull KTM Factory Racing:

  1. Marvin Musquin (450)
  2. Cooper Webb (450)
  3. Aaron Plessinger (450)

And a total of 5 competitors from the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing team.

  1. Dean Wilson (450)
  2. Malcolm Stewart (450)
  3. R.J Hampshire (250)
  4. Stilez Robertson (250)
  5. Jalek Swoll (250)

Its been a solid start for all the racers. Especially Malcom Stewart, also known as "Mookie". He achieved his career best earlier on, during round 5, with a P2. He was feeling extra good as it was his first triple crown of the season! His riding is getting progressively better, getting a P7 and a few P5s and then to end up with his latest finish, the P2.

His biggest frustration during the beginning of the races, were his starts, however he is looking pretty good out of the box as of late. Big expectations from him as he continues to compete. Glad to have him on the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team.

Cooper Webb, another big name, has been racing on the KTM team since 2019. We had big expectations for Webb, as the last two seasons consisted of a crown finish. This year, it's a little different. Not with the same trainer, bike, or facility, he has some adjustments to make. Finishing 8th in the last couple races, he is facing some frustration. The rider shares that this sport makes him anxious, because even though he had a great prior season, he always has to push to stay up-to-date. "The sport is always moving on in some way", he shares.

Aaron Plessinger, friend, and new teammate of Cooper Webb, is currently standing in 10th. Last year, he finished in 5th so we aren't worried. Aaron has been racing 250s since 2015 and recently started racing in the 450SX class in 2019.

Marvin Musquin, "The French supercross star who's usually top of the class", going on 14 years racing as a part of the KTM family, 12 of which were in the U.S, has had an impressive 2021 year. Coming in 3rd place in Indianapolis, 2nd at Orlando and Salt Lake City, and finishing with a big P1 in there as well. In this competition, he is currently sitting at 7th.
